Never actually looked much into blackguard changes, so thanks for that bg bullstrength thingy. I knew it now gives more ab bonus, but never noticed the additional attacks at 21 and 26!

Will try a similar build with bg and see where it ends up. With the low amount of ppl on the server, I tend to focus on alround builds a bit these days. Ditching the ac loss from barbarian rage for a couple of (low ab) attacks.. I'd like to see how that plays out.

I just finished a build like this yesterday. A few different things from yours.

I went Dwarf for the CON, instead of Half-Orc. Also I started with 20 CON and finished with 26 CON(with +2 from RDD). STR was 15 and finished with 34.

Going Great Axe I managed to get KD/IKD, along with all other Hitter excential pre-epic feats. (Blind Fight, Weap Focus, Improve Crit, Heavy Armor, etc)

I also didn't pick Terrifying Rage, only Mighty and Thundering.

tl:dr

AB buffed: 68, 73 with tenser.
AC: irrelevant since this is a pure hitter.
HP: 1032 (that's right, 1032).


Great, second time in as many days that I create a build, only to find that mr Thiagow did (in this case) the exact same thing years back haha. Anyways, just wanted to confirm (since I now have it in test area) that if you do this build as a wemic, you end up with ab 76 (and 10 attacks) using tenser.

Attack scheme is actually quite insane if you ask me:
76/71/66/61/76/71/66/61/56/51 Oh my!

In my build, it didnt include IKD. I think I would settle for 75 ab by taking great str 3 instead of 5 and then taking IKD and epic skill focus: taunt. Downside of wemic is supposedly that he wields all weapons as single handed (didn't actually check this yet, but i can imagine this is the case). Upside is that a wemic does get to carry a tower shield and has large stature, which makes (I)KD even more effective.

With a bit of tweaking using Thiagow's for ever awesome hint of using shifter azer shape for some nice buffs (how could i have ever missed that!) I'm now at ab 65 ac 73, hips, 65% conceal, epic dodge. Will probably tinker a bit more on it, but this was a nice upgrade already.

Edit: let me rephrase, if those nrs are all accurate, it is probably the most versatile build i've ever seen! I posted a challenge yesterday on best all-round build... Seems that within 24 hrs I got beat😎 Gratz!

Edit 2: can you explain how this build buffs to 20ab? I rly don't know how the classes you select do that. Or is it through potions? Thx!

IMPORTANT: this build is only viable if PM bug gets fixed (for wemic)!!

Posting this as a challenge to others to get a nicer alround build. Of course there are numerous abilities you may want to find in an alround toon. For this one I focussed on the never ending exchange between ab and ac.

Build is really straightforward and should be a breeze to lvl:

start stats:
13 char, 14 wis, 14 int, the rest strength

pre 20:
17 paladin and 3 bard

post 20:
pm all the way and final bard at lvl 40 for max skills

wemic kicker:
wield a great sword or axe together with a tower shield! Or go really wicked and take a scythe  Evil

notable feats:
divine power and shield, epic mage armor and warding spells, and I took expertise in case you are the tank of the team (which you should be able to do quite well for lesser bosses)

skills:
tumble, disc, spellcraft (for epic spells), some umd and one skill to max at your pleasure.

final stats (with fairly easy gear):
ab 63 (maxed) ac 88, crit immune. Only 5 attacks, but it is a strength build so dmg should be quite good when they land.

Just checked again with Wemic build and bone skin is still not working. I get no additional ac when i take my first lvl and get bone skin. Should get 2. Didn't check with other races yet.

Nice root cause analysis after my wemic post @firecracker! Is the 2da file the one with that enormously long list of settings? If so, I can try and help find diffs in format/settings between the original one and the EE version.. I'll be online tomorrow evening for a bit, if you need some extra eyes.

Can you share if this wemic build actually received the rdd bonus ac? Because I've found out some time back (and posted the same on forum) that wemic does not seem to receive the palemaster ac bonus at all.

I believe the changes to SD mention that for some outdoor areas a hips cooldown of 6s is introduced and you need 10 SD levels to ignore that cooldown.

1. I don't know in which areas
2. contrary to having SD melee toon, you probably don't need to hips again in the same round, since you'll be casting your spells, right?

Still, if you mistakenly start casting and didn't see some enemy, you could get in a pickle if you don't have 10 SD... Just thought i'd put it out there Cheesy

Yeah the ac and conceal will fir sure help during solo lvling and also enable farming of harder areas solo. Worst areas will for sure be the ones with lot of mages, since hp on this one is fairly low. I'm lvling one right now, so will posts updates. (Waiting for server, of course)

Notice: this build will be updated some times (have to do some stuff top-of-my-head, because nwn is installed on a different pc)

This build utilises the insane bonuses to dex/wis the brownie class gets to take some feat combo's that were really hard (impossible?) to take together before. In this case: get 25 dex for epic dodge (enabled by shadowdancer class) and combine it with 27 wisdom for construct shape, to get proper strength score for some ok damage. Crit immunity, HIPS and 65% conceal are added benefits as well Cheesy

Final stats:
59 ab
70 ac with 65% conceal and epic dodge
hips

Something else I noticed recently while trying out some Wemic builds is that for some reason Wemics do not seem to benefit from palemaster ac bonuses. (bone skin)

Now that wemic and brownie races can be selected (and discussion on the forum is moving in the direction that this will not be changed any time soon) I have been playing around with them to try and find new viable builds. I'll be posting some of the more interesting ones on the forum. I'll be posting this one in phases, so expect some updates.

This build tries to use the wemic 'large' size to give builds that were previously just hitters some more survivability.

Key aspects:
1. Wields a great axe (or any other large weapon) as well as a tower shield
2. Maxes dodge ac to get an 'ok' armor class
3. Adds 65% conceal, which should greatly improve survivability
4. Have some useful utility skills at decent lvl (search, open lock, umd)

Cons:
1. Must start as a paladin, so Gondor only.
2. Only 5 attacks per round (but at really good ab, so most will hit)

Starting stats:
str 23
dex 9
con 11
wis 14
int 14
char 12

Race:
wemic (duh!)

Feats:
iron will (harper scout), power attack, divine might, divine shield, expertise, knockdown, extend spell, weapon focus and improved crit great axe.

Epic feats:
great charisma III (2x harper scout bonus feat), epic weapon focus, armor skin, prowess

Hints for building:
take 8 persuade on paladin lvl (class skill)
take 8 hide/ms on assassin lvl (class skill)
take +1 charisma as first stat improvement, to enable divine might/shield feats

Lvls (final: paladin 17, harper scout 5, assassin 18):
1 through 16 paladin
17 through 20 assassin
21 through 25 harper scout
26 through 39 assassin
40 paladin (for discipline)

Estimate of final stats:
ab 69/64/59/69/64
ac 75 (easy) to 78 (with really good gear)
quite some irresistable dmg (divine favor + might)

We could as a first step check what the ab degradation was if we load the module into a "normal" install of nwn (which i still have flying around somewhere). If the normal and EE versions behave differently, we can see if we can fix that. If not, then I propose we invest our time in other topics.

CleverOne, I have done some testing because at first I actually thought it was caused by the monk lvls in the build, but it seems it has more to do with the fact that some shapes are unarmed (like dragon) and for those shapes the ab seems to never "reset" in a round. All your attacks just get lower and lower ab. The fact that you have monk has nothing to do with it, because my toon didn't have any monk levels and still showed this behavior.

The shapes that _do_ carry weapons show no such issues. The thing I don't know yet is whether this was the case on pre-nwn-EE as well, or that it got "introduced" later. Will update here if I find more info.
