Oh, man, when I was younger my dad had given me as a birthday gift 3 books of them. I loved those! Some of the funniest things I had ever read. One of the strips I still remember because it was hella funny was : Square 1: (Calvin screams ) MOM! Could you please come here outside for a second? Square 2: (Mother screams) CALVIN, you don't need to scream like that! Come inside to talk to me! Square 3: (Calvin) Mom, I've stepped on shit and I need to clean my shoes. How can I do it? Heh, I loved this one

I'm waiting for the day when tanking will mean making a lvl 40 monk that will lock on the boss while 4 AA's kill him Seriously now, as long as the same clerics don't get a new domain for every tank build that is made, then I'm ok with it. Terrorble once said an opinion about making boss/mobs that I thought wonderful at the time: making them the same way a player would. At the time, I was also gonna suggest that you guys created "monster templates", or maybe even applying some old PnP rules - probably there is some PnP RPG material of LOTR from which you guys could extract something. Now, giving air, destruction, healing, hmm, travel, trickery, all on the same time, Epic Dodge for a cleric with 10 dex? There I think it is starting to get lame.

This is a nice idea, since we've all been through those times when we had that "lamp" idea of a build but didnt continue after we've also considered how awesomely hard it would be to level them. But, as always, it needs careful discussion.
I'll raise another problem of it to think about: what about the xp excess after lvl 40? Will those count over the xp tradeoff or only the 780k needed to level to 40 will?

Hmm, I was wondering, Rapid Shot is included in the "AB reset only 1 time per round", right? So if u had a normal 40/35/30/25 attack schedule, and u have haste and Rapid Shot on, you'd get 38/33/28/23/38/33, right?

I had applied myself to make a system to compute the stats automatically. I finished its modelling, but unfortunately I got caught up by RL and also became kind of bored of playing Hopefully I'll start implementing it by December, when I'll have finished my semester.

The magic number for dispel magic is 21, for greater dispelling is 26, and for Mordor disj is 28, considering that the first 2 are cast by casters and Mordor disj is cast by a scroll or item. Any mage has at least 29 clvls o basically they can strip anything and anyone anyway.

If u make everything UMD'ble, you'll make bards stronger, and spam a hell of 39 whatever/1 bard builds just to use the best items in the server.
I partially agree that class restrictions are bad. I, though, think alignment ones are interesting because, knowing that there were no alignment restrictions, I'd only make true neutral to avoid getting smited and extra damaged by item properties. Knowing there is such powerful
The only I see to even think about taking away restrictions is using what PnP done with items with good/evil alignment: give the character that is wielding it negative levels, based on his distance from the alignment the item has.

Everything is immune to dominate, charm, confusion, mind fog, etc in hard areas so I guess that's not a valid point.
The only reason I see for that rule is that if you PVP and have an already dominated faction npc the attacker could eventually attack the dominated guy and thus getting faction hostile by accident.
Basically, what you're saying is "don't build crowd controllers, our NPC's won't be able to kill you easily then!"

Just out of curiosity, is that Aragorn's sword? make a Mordor toon just to use an single item ??? and if u want to use that same item with some other toon ?? u just live with it cuz of some senseless restrictions ?? >:[
Yep, that's right. It might seem senseless to you but I won't even start how many OP builds one could make if there weren't items restrictions. Yours, for example, a bard/RDD/PM. Put that WK armor, that sword, Bigby's bane / Right Hand, Aragorn's Shield, and boon.

Nice ideas, Zev. I think some time ago I(we?) also suggested that the Gem of Seeing could be randomly hidden each server restart at a random location, and that when it is found some kind of automatic event could be triggered. Unfortunately, RL caught me up fast this semester so I'm in the eye of a tornado of work and exams, and I'm on that phase of boredom of playing games . But when that passes I'll surely come back to spill some enemy blood

I think the worst thing about the ranger are his spell list, the worst of all classes that have spellcasting abilities
Improving One With The Land and Camouflage is a nice idea, since good stealth gear is a hard thing to find, but I'd suggest that it scales after 15 or 20 ranger since casting them from items is pretty common to see.

CoTs are as Marcus calls them, "a one trick pony".
That's why I'm planing to make a CoT with a Wrath that lasts near 4 mins and with about 30 unresistable damage - as soon as it wears out, I'll be able to rest to regain it

Then why PM has several feats especially designed to summon undead minions, one of then with detailed epic minions progression? I didn't thought of PvP before making my arguments - I always considered the mordor PM's which, frankly, are a minor annoyance for me. Then I remembered that time near Cirith where Rade went nuts fighting Ferth's, lol. So now, I think they still should be GOOD, but I also agree with Rade that fighting some in PvP with a high Ac tank that heal heal heal sucks ( and Ferth was smart to take Ruin and Hellball to finish off anyone who gets near death hahaha). To me, lowering ab to 50 or 55 and, if he has high caster lvls, decreasing it should be fine. Remember: it might cast a lot of spells, but if they are natural abilities they have capped casters levels that only will cripple builds with lower than 28 clvls - and if u haven't thought of making your build strong against dispels, then its your fault, not his

Cot builds?
23 bard/2 "Choose"/ 15 CoT. If you start with 16 cha u'll have 2 minutes with +16ab bonus, -5 Ac from song, 7 unrest damage
ranged 24 rogue / 1 sd / 15 Cot. about 60 ab to use in surprise ranged attacks that will certainly deal about 100+ per round if u win initiative, ignoring any dodge dodge bonuses. Plus, uber saves. Get Slippery Mind, Improved Evasion and u'll have about 1/400 chance of failing a reflex/will save.
I don't know if u read what Terroble said in another post but double weapon wm get their current deflection ac PLUS the bonuses listed, almost killing the disavantage they have of low ac. (maybe a 25 wm / 5 HS / 10 fighter)
HS's got some love, but the problem is that their +ab bonus pot doesnt last too long.
Before wipe, I really don't remember to have seen a smiter BG with the frequency I'm seeing now. Maybe because Rade's made one and with the changes, but it's only speculation.
Truth be told, I didn't read all of that post u made, Lawson.
But I have to agree on that, after seeing the Draco's stats, 62 ab seemed a little high. About 50 - 60 seems fairer IMO.
EDIT: read of azurerogue said...
Have u ever saw the ability of Illithids? Psychic blast? DC is 10 + shifterlvl/2 + wis mod. Needs to test this, but I think it pierces through any kind of immunity to mind affecting spell u might had. Now, make a monk shifter with 28 Shifter lvls, put as high as u can points into wis, and u'll have about a 43 DC attack that can't be immunized against... and will leave enemies hopeless... and deal damage...
