Loud servers - gotta love em  Grin

However I think the server has problems adjusting to the new breeze for it seems to be down again.

And hey Turril good to hear from ya, hope all is good on the other side of the world.

Hey Soulstler,

Don't worry. When an item is written in red, it means it's a boss drop or a rare drop, dropped by some unique NPC.
Most red lettered items are somewhat better then mundane gear.
So red is actually good  Grin
Be sure to hold on to those.

Welcome back mate. Seems lots of middle earthers are finding there way back.
It's good to see ya again.

Hey,

geekandsundry is awesome.
I've been watching that before, good and fun way to find out what some tabletop games are all about
One has to love Felicia  :pompom:

Those other two links looks promising, I will definately try them out

Sometimes I seek some game based webseries and this one I particularly liked, being a big fan of Fall-out

Nuka-Break
http://www.youtube.com/user/WaysideCreations?feature=watch

Way back I've played Half-life which I found to be a fun game aswell and following link gets ya to some fan-based movie.

Beyond Black Mesa

Good post Rabbac, I'll add to it when I remember some other things I've watched.

Hey Rabbac,

You're back!!!
Welcome back dude.

We have quite a few peeps on these days. Not to tell on people  Evil but here are a few that are online regularly:

Noruas (without a doubt)
Chaos (most times with 2 accounts, but it still counts as one)
Greydeth (same as above)
Fire (applying for DM, as you have seen)
Marcus (sneaky monk like before)
Grunaldo (grinding his tanks to epic levels)
Sky (failing again and again to acquire thralls armor, sorry dude)
Rod (yes we tricked him to come back too)
Raj (phasing in and out like a spider)
Dragoneye (on occasion)
Tono (I thought I was dreaming too)
Bazbas (beginning to learn the tricks of GvM)
And anyone I forgot in a hurry.

well and me...

On occassion we even got some new guys on, so that pretty awesome.

Some other vets having problems with them losing cd-keys, which makes it kinda hard to run yer old account. (see some older posts)

So no maxed out server, but still quite a few peeps on these days.

Xp parties are still running.
Raids to MM, MT, ToD, Hobbiton and other places in the last 3 months I was lucky to be able to attend.
Great fun! And with succes even most of the times.

Now if only the server was up again I could make a pvp toon and hunt Noru*swallows* *coughs* ...

Cheers Loc

Hey guys,

Been loggin in since last week.
Have been away for some time due to diaper duties.
But it seems I can find the time and motivation to port in here and there.
Lets see how long that lasts  laugh

Some guys seem to be on frequently: Chupa, CP, Dragoneye, me for now, and we even got some newcommers.
Yes it is still possible!, NWN never dies!!!  Evil

See ya around.

10  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Character Builds / Re: Ranger 38/Fighter 1/Monk 1 on: 27 June 2011, 21:26
So I guess you took monk for tumble and evasion.

I would wear a robe and get that +8 wis bonus to AC and try to max dex too to get that +8 also so you'll get AC 68, it's still not the greatest AC but it means that npc's or pc's with the same AB you got need a 20 on their last 2 attacks or so to hit ya.
It could just make the difference, and since yer spending points in Parry for AC aswell as Armor Skin, I would try to get the most out of it.

AB 64 is decent enough I think, and the dmg would be nice. get yerself a bard and a lvl 40 pally and you got an uber hitter  icon_thumright
11  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Character Builds / Re: Epic Gargoyle on: 23 June 2011, 18:09
Heya,

I think Ses and I started exploring the gargoyle a while (ages) ago.
Maybe with the sd class stuck into it and were primarily focussing on parry.
But we reconed that it would never function as a good tank due to the mediocre AC and none crit immune.

Parry tends to get bugged sometimes when you want to use items while in parrying stance.
And expertise can't be done at the same time as parry or defensive stance.

So basically you got three defensive abilities that will never shine like a high AC, epic dodging, decently concealed, crit immune tank.

Nevertheless is the epic gargy an exiting shape to look into.

I wouldn't know yet what I would do with it, but maybe it could function like a hitter instead.
Although I'm not sure how to get that lovely AB up.
Maybe CoT could compliment it.

But ya gotta admit that those claws are made for rending  Evil
12  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Players Forum / Server Issues on: 13 June 2011, 13:51
Hey guys,

As mentioned before in the Server Down topic, server seems to have issues once yer alone on the server and log out.
I tried a reset again but this time it didn't solve the problem.

Otherwise it seems to be ok, but weirdities may happen.

On a important note: Do not mule items and log out if you happen to be alone on the server.
It will autoreset and the gear might be gone.

Hopefully Turril or any DM that is capable will solve whatever the heck is goin on.

Cheers loc
13  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Players Forum / Re: SERVER DOWN on: 08 June 2011, 08:56
Reset.

Server was having issues this morning.
Was alone on it and on log out it seemed to reboot itself.
I did a reset and now it seems ok, but upon reset it didn't count down the regular 3 minutes.

15  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Future Talk / Re: Saruman & Isengard on: 10 February 2011, 17:42

Also, Saruman is killable without irresistible damage (as we proved a week ago, it just took an incredibly long time), however he is made infinitely easier with irresistible damage; with Rod's Cot and my Cleric (and lawson's bard, cause going without one is just /facepalm worthy) it only took a couple minutes to get him from uninjured to dead.

Ehrm, I'm missing someone here  brushteeth

Anyways it went great!
And rod totally missed Grima dropping his ring too.
I mean if ya can't appreciate the little stuff  binkybaby

Ses hits the right button there about drops from Saru.
I'm also fine with the way it is.

As a last note, I'm still pretty sure Grima had the last stab on Saru.
Should have made a screeny I know, but I forgot >.<

I say we should try with yer hitter Rod.

I'll bring my tank and Nlawson can run a bard.

Ses can bring whatever he wants since they are all uber >.<

Sancho can't come ...

Heya all,

It's a darn shame I hear so many depressing thoughts lately.
But I can understand why they are there.
Not the best beginning on this new year for GvM.

There is truth in any one post here, but the one that sticked on my mind was Cosmic's

I will miss all the damn good times we all had here.

I hear ya there!

Even though we got crushed in the end last sunday by a silly 3 minute respawn, I'd like to think we had alot of fun. And as long as I can experience that with any of you guys I will care to drop in and play.

Cheers Loc
18  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Players Forum / Re: Attacker Miss Chance on: 30 November 2010, 11:46
I pretty sure it the wight charm.
I've encountered the same problem with that accursed piece of jewelry.

When I dropped the piece, died, relogged and stuff, the effect was gone.
Once equiped again I could feel a dark shadow creeping over me.
So naturally I gave it away to someone I didn't like  Evil

Anyways, you shouldn't wear stuff from the walking dead.
Yer bound to get punished by the evil spirits livin in them.

Cheers!

19  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / GvM1 Players Forum / Re: New 'stuff' on: 21 November 2010, 14:22
Heya,

Incredible work indeed!
I tested it this morning and it's simplicity work grant for me.
Thumbs up Terrorble! Thumbs up! thumbsup

It's incredibly usefull to see how for instance yer shifter build works out with all the changes over these past years.

Now for that char deletion thing, not sure if it helps, but back in the days when I sometimes visited Neversummer they had a NPC that could delete your character if you would talk to him and then log out.

Anyways, I took Terror's advise and made a new player account "locmer_test" for it.
Works fine as well.

The place could use a trash can maybe.

Awesome stuff! Thanks!

No harm done Fire  laugh
I can't even remember it to be honoust.

Some good points in this discussion.

Anyways as with all games let's remember that we are here to have fun.
Sportsmanship is one of the most important things.
Even if yer opponent doesn't seem to show it, it's even more honorable to still show it yourself.

I'm not a saint and I have ambushed players while they were busy killing npc spawns.
And yeah I prolly used some lame tactics from time to time, like spamming gs untill it gets bugged  Tongue

But most of the time I try to make the battle as even sided as possible.
After all I find meself having more fun in those.

Unless it's Rod, yeah mr. I got my eye on you!  Evil

21  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / Dragon Builds / Re: Druid 32 / Monk 6 / Shadowdancer 2 on: 30 October 2010, 21:53
Heya B,

Actually you don't really need the hips from shadowdancer as a dragon, it's just a nice extra that can be helpfull sometimes I guess.
But besides the fact that this is a dragon build it's also a potent caster. and while in elemental shape hips can also be helpfull to hit enemies (negating their dodge bonus).
But most important 2 sd levels grant ya uncanny dodge.

You can get haste from an item (that enables you to cast it x/day) or from potions, or from an allied caster.

All items and weapons merge in any shape (shifter shapes included), except for shields when you have also monk levels included your build.

Buffing Ab:

Bless potions
Aid potions
Premonition (it grants a bonus to attack rolls, which gets higher / max +3 depending on divine spell focus feats)
True Strike potions (which on this server grant you an attack bonus from 6 to 15 random I thought)

Just understand that some of these effects are a GvM update on the normal excisting NWN Wiki

Cheers!

Lawful Neutral

35. Monk
36. Druid - Epic Spell (dragon knight)
37. Monk
38. Shadowdancer
39. Monk - Epic Skilll Focus (parry)
40. Druid - *Dragon Shape

For skills I took:

Concentration 43
Discipline 42
Heal 43
Hide 42
Move Silent 42
Parry 43
Spellcraft 42
Tumble 40

Not sure entirely about the numbers there but it should be close.

Fully buffed in dragon shape I can reach about:

AB: 62 - 72 (max, depending on the result of the ts potions)
AC: 90 (untill haste runs out)

+8 From barkskin leaves you a amulet slot open for anything usefull intead of natural AC

Monk attack bonus + the nice bonus feats you get from the first 6 levels

Elemental shapes are easy to forget, but with the critical immune and the improved shapes
the air elemental can be a decent tank.
And if it all fails you can always hips your way out of danger (unless they see ya)

I use a quarterstaff as a weapon for my shapes, the one from Corsair City which is +5, 2d10 bludge
seems quite mundane but works very well on it.

There is even an epic summon, but I must admit I hardly use it.
You could probably find something else, but I liked the idea to have a back up dragon for my ... dragon.

Parry works ok, though you could probably find a way to insert improved expertise into it somewhere if you really want to go for AC.
This way the air elemental shape might reach a steady AC 95

I'm not sure if the Epic Skill feats were all that nescesary.
But hey, more option to twink this build eh.

All in all a fun build to play with and decent in various aspects.

Cheers
24  Gondor vs Mordor 1 / Dragon Builds / Re: Druid 20 / Bard 4 / PM 16 bychaky furtz on: 29 October 2010, 11:01
If ya still want something in the theme of dragons,
I recently made a Druid 32 Monk 6 Shadowdancer 2, with the divination feats.

I primarily made one as a party favor with some interesting buffs and some agro spellcasting.

But the dragon shape seems to be working quite nice.
I could get to about AC: 90 and with the TS pots AB: 62-72

Ofcourse you be drinking potions untill yer hands acke of mouseclicking, but it works!

It a very versatile build, with hips (which I hardly use, but I can) and parry (for tanking if needed).
Even the dragons breath is decent against some targets.

So basically ya got a bit of everything.

Il try to make time tonight to post it here somewhere..

If ya enjoyed the "the Hunt for Gollem" you'd prolly enjoy "Born of Hope" too.

Shouldn't be hard to find ones ya click on the link in this topic, since it's made by the same makers of "the Hunt"
