I also really miss the days when there was a waiting list to get one.  I don't play much like I used to for several reasons, Life, other projects, etc  I also miss the social aspect of when it was busier.  I have noticed there is a big resurgent of D&D content on platforms like Twitch.

Being a streamer myself I have often wondered if we could setup a discord  for it and have several of us get one and stream it on Twitch, throw it in the D&D category  and see what happens.  I would be more than happy to stream it on my channel if I could get a couple of regular players to join me.  You don't have to know how to stream or have the equipment, other than a Mix for the Discord Server.  I have my own server, I could just setup a channel on there for this.

I'm hoping something like this might bring more people to the server.  So if anyone is interested and playing with me while on stream let me know. It will be a work in progress at first, but I am very willing and excited to try this.  If you want you can look for me on twitch/facebook/youtube under my gaming name Aszull.  So if any of this sounds interesting to anyone let me know.  I really think a little of this will bring back some interest in the server.

As for coding and such I really wish I could help, but maybe something like this might bring a few "helpers" our way.

Well window mode seemed to fix it, kinda sucks really would prefer full screen, but window mode is better than no mode. Now off to look some stuff up for a build and at some point play.

I think I started playing on this server back in 2004?  The last 4 or 5 years I just pop on here and there.  It is a lot slower than it used to be, but it is an awesome feeling to run around the old server and playing with some of the OG players.  I'm trying to get back on myself, but my game keeps crashing during area transition.  I have tired a few things, nothing working yet.... thinking of reinstalling and then giving it a run.  BTW Welcome Back!

Just seen this myself yesterday, which is on of the reasons I stopped by today. May have to install my Diamond edition and stop by the server. its been at least a couple of years.

Got a chance to really explore the new Pocket & Eru's today.  Awesome work!  The updated information and new signs have been needed for a long time.  The water of life sign... is that kinda like walking through the water in Eur's? Making Eru's a straight shot is a good move. Again, Good work!

What makes it easy to connect is NWNCX 0.2.7.  Here is a quote from the site: "Note: GameSpy stopped supporting NWN in December 2012. Your "history" and "favorites" tabs will still link to servers you've played on, but the other lists will be empty. The NWN community has a workaround/fix for this (NWNCX 0.2.7 and later fixes this)."

wow I had to log in to post my comments after reading all of yours.  I have been playing GvM for over 12(?) years now under this name and similar ones.  I remember the awesome days when you had to wait to log in because over 30+ players were playing and no slots were left.  Over the years I have an on again off again relationship with GvM, mostly because of life like most of us.  I just happened to be installing NWN today thinking of checking the server out.  I do agree (sorry for not having the post right in front of me) That making the start of the game a bit more straight forward would help.  How to do this, I have no idea as I have never ran/modded/admin/built any NWN server.  I would like to think as a community, even as small as it is we could revive some interest from old players and bring in some new players.  I'm willing to put the effort forth to see what may come of it.  Unfortunately gamers like us are a dying breed, most want that quick reward and end of the game.  A good example is what my wife always says to me when I am playing GvM..... "Are you winning yet?" as a joke.  I always said that I enjoyed playing the game so I didn't have to "win" or hit the end of a game.  Hopefully we can get some new interest in the site/server.  Well back to installing the stuff I need to play.  Hope to see you all on the server soon!

Most of my vault was wasted toons anyway, so it's all good.  Starting fresh would be kinda nice.

So what would be the upload/download bandwidth requirements be for the mod?  I have a computer sitting around wasting space.

AAAAAHHHHH!  I'm going nuts without my LOTR & NWN fix.  I hope the server is back up soon, if ever.  Other mods just are not the same for me.  I grew up on NWN with this mod and it was always a joy to come back after taking a break and seeing the veterans along with the new faces.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I have logged onto the server and I have a question.  When I was transferring an item from on toon over to a mule I had an item that had its name in red.  I thought maybe this might be a restricted I item I am not supposed to have anymore, it is called Hill Giant Basher.  I looked on the server updates and searched the forum and could not find my answer.  If it is out there, sorry I missed it...I'm just ready to get to playing again and don't want to get banned or something like that for not looking further into it.  Thanks everyone in advance!

I'm still around.  It's hard to believe I have been playing this mod for over 6 years now.  I come and go.  Play for a few months and then take some time off.  Right now I am playing a lot of DC Universe Online, not the same as NWN but still fun.  I did reinstall the game yesterday, but I am having trouble coming up with a build.  I have never been great at it and when I sit down and try to make that "perfect" build I just get overwhelmed in all the stats, feats, changes and give up and just wing it.  What I would like to find is a group of 4-8 people that would like to log on one night a week and play together.  Start new toons from scratch for playing with just that group that way your levels stay close.  You know kinda like the old Pen and Paper days.

I have a club +1....is that worth anything?  lol

As much as I hate to report, my vent server is down...the drive in it died...  I don't know when I will be replacing it.

I came home from camping today to find my little vent server had crashed.  just wanted to let you know it's back up.

Gotta take the vent server down this Saturday.  It will be down for about a week ish.  I'll post when it comes back up.

This was happening to me too until I found the obvious solution.....never log out.  Forsake food.  Forsake drinks. Forsake sleep.  The only friend you need is in your hand (your sword,  sick freak)  and if you want human interaction?  Type Gip!  Case closed....

I know there hasn't been much demand for Ventrilo, but I setup a vent server.  Who knows, at some point in time we may need separate Gondor and Mordor servers.  If you haven't done so all ready... GO DOWNLOAD VENT!    We need more people in the chat.  As for my server I consider it the Mordor side, but anyone is welcome to use it.  Here is the address:
