Just a heads up as I think I have seen this numerous times and have seen a couple of versions of this build already started. When you are building a shifter where the shape uses a specific weapon, like the helmed horror uses a great sword, this does NOT mean you have to have a greatsword equiped on your toon, any weapon provided you have the proficiency and it is not ranged will work. E.g. mine is usually equiped with the rusty hand axe (keen it with your bard buffs) from Black Gates, but there are some easier to obtain weapons that are nice with this build, like the mace from Caras Galadham or the morningstar from Spirits (if it still exists).

Also stay away from weapons with magic damage on as the shape gets 1d10 magic damage already added. Any magic on your weapon will become redundant, so for example Lurtz's scimy is not a good choice Smiley

question abt the current build version posted here, FC. why did you take epic prowess at lvl 30 instead of ewf: greatsword?

also, i don't see why you can't drop dex to 8 instead of lowering str or con. the dex gives you 2 ac but w/o uncanny dodge, it won't help if you're fighting more than one foe. still, the extra ac  is useful fighting against a single opponent so perhaps its worth it. imo, it probably comes down to either str (for convenience) or dex.

My robot butler started with 18 wisdom by sacreficing str/con, and that has yet to come back and bite me.
Instead of great wisdom II and III I've got both prowess and epic weapon focus, as well as epic skill focus perform (really didn't have anything better to pick, as I already had epic skill focus taunt, and lvl 25 bard song requires 75 perform, if memory serves).

I've got maxed str from items + buffs (greater bulls str + bull str stacks) and I don't carry full plate or any such thing on him, so I don't really have any problems with carrying equipment while not shifted.

Yeh your right, i was hoping that the stuff in misc info would give the hint, this build went about 4 upgrades before I posted it so i guess something wasnt copy/pasted in the right place - have updated it.

If you can manage your weight and hp while travelling then having more dex while shifted is the only modifier of the three that will give you any benefit, but it is users preference.

That is probably me. I have a Helmed Horror and I use greatsword but only cuz I have the best one.

It's probably the best amount of damage I'll get from non-magical damage weapons.
