I've started merging the vaults  .... my god its huuuge! ...  some of us do have lots and lots and lots of toons! wow!
I'm serving the most active players first ... and gradually everyone who has logged in to our new server will have their old toons back!

For those who also want them back but didnt logged in yet ... plze log in (make a new or fake toon) and send me a message

A couple of weeks ago Turril agreed to merge his vault with our new one.  

Unfortunately I'm still waiting for his reply from my message how he can manage this.
He did mention being quite busy ... so maybe his reply will take a lot longer than I anticipated.
It looks we'll have to wait for him till he's got time again.

But there is still more good news!
For those who cant wait (or waited long enough ... half a year is quite long when you think of it)
There is another solution!
(All credits to Wake, who discovered this trick)  

How to get youre old toons back soon:
1. Find youre localvault map from youre NWN-game on youre hard disk
2. Make a backup copy of all toons located there and delete all toons in youre localvault after this.
2. Log into Turrils server
3. Pick a toon
4. Hit <ESC> and choose: "save character"
5. See message if character is exported successfully
6. Repeat steps 2-5 till every toon is saved. (All youre old toons are now located in youre localvault)
7. Make a zip, rar, 7zip, gzip or whatever compression file of them.
8. Send them to me: greydeth@hotmail.com with the necessary comments and info (see 9.)
9. Needed info: which toons (located in zipfile) need to go into which player character
10. I'll copy all into the right places of our servervault.
11. I'll message you when its done.

How cool is that !!!!
 

Tip:
Try to "clean up" youre (obsolete) toons as much as you can ... always message me if you want specific toons deleted.

NB:
Double named toons (toons with same name as another toon ... old and/or new ones) will cause a problem ...
Also same character names AND filenames with the only difference is having a capital letter in it or not, will cause a problem too.
But most things can be solved ... just communicate

I guess I waited too long to "clean up" my old toons. I can guess and say I have prolly 25-30 characters on the old vault

Thx for the job, I have exported a first set of 20 toons on local vault, I will send you it this week.
My vault on old server will be complicated to integrate (8-9 accounts for a total of  200+ toons), so I will pickup another set and that will be finished for me.

Quick question.  With Turrill's server being down for good now, I can't use the 11 step process listed above to retrieve my old toons.  Can you restore them on your side?  It should be under the same username as my forum one here.  (At least some of the more important ones....I may have forgotten my alt logins but that's no big deal.)

Log into the new server and and make a toon.

That will tell Grey that he needs to look for and import your toons.

Grey now has the old server vault.

Thanks, I went ahead and did that.  I've got a toon in my vault that says [TEST] Sancho, if that is needed for reference.

Ok so if I'm understanding this...if we missed being able to use the 11 step process but all of our old toons have been ported to the new vault/server.

Can we still clean up those toons delete the ones we don't want to keep and/or rename the ones we do want to keep. And is there a program or means for us as players to do this or do we compile this information and send it to Grey or another admin. to make those adjustments.

I appologize for missing out on doing this before old server was taken off line...my working hours are weird and i'm on here at odd times.

Get the gear and xp from your old toons and send an email to grey as to what toons to delete.

Also add the names of the toons you want changed.

It might take a bit as Grey is still adding to the vault.

BTW, If we have an old toon that is higher leveled etc. that we want to keep that older toon is that possible to keep the older one on the newer server or will that create conflicts somehow?

Hey guys.

I was pretty active throughout the process of getting the new GvM server up and running. I remember Grey getting Turril's old vault and checking a bunch of my old toons and mules, but I must have gotten busy and gone inactive right before I got any of them merged to the new vault. Is it still possible for me to get my old toons merged?
