Hi all

This has been mentioned before going back a few years too, the possibility of removing class alignment restrctions from the server. The main idea for this would to allow a whole new range of builds to be created as well as aid conquering those tougher areas with the smaller player base.

I was thinking about this yesterday about limiting the changes to remove lawful/chaotic requirements to prevent good mordor and evil gondor combinations, but then realised that actually the recruiters in Eru's stop you from creating evil gonds and good mords which makes sense to keep this division.

A blanket turn off of alignment restrictions could potentially allow someone to create an neutral Paladin on the mordor side or a neutral Blackguard/Assassin on the Gondor side. Would this be seen as a problem?

Thoughts?

I think I may well trial this then - starting tomorrow - I just need to a modification to a single file to enable it.

At the end of the day if over powered toons start coming out of the wood work due to the change then it can always be reverted (as those toons will just become flagged as illegal).

I'll post back once it is enabled for a trial period.

OK this is now in effect for at least for a trial period to see how things go.

Does this mean I'll be able to make BG/HS?

Yep - the other prestige class restrictions are still in effect (e.g. HS requires alertness) but the alignment restriction (non evil) will not be required.

I got all excited about this but now can't really think of a build to use it for  Grin

Quite happy with my pally/bg/cot though.. really only adds higher saves but they are impressive lowest is 40ish..

So far I made a druid/shifter/pally Drow Shape that gets 70ab and in game close to 80ac. And for shits and giggles a pally/dragon build. roughly same ab but lower AC. Divine Might is nice extra dmg that can make farming easier along with divine favor.

Not finding any game breaking builds yet.

I wouldn't mind you getting rid of the undead penalties to play an unused shifter class again.
